A couple weeks ago, my 5 year old Maltipoo got injured somehow at the dog sitter. After a loud yelp in pain, she was found alone in a bedroom barely able to stand and unable to walk. She was initially taken to another vet clinic that took x-rays and did blood work, but concluded thay she had loose joints and was just having joint pain. That vet told me that he ruled out any kind of spinal injury or pinched nerve. I'm not a vet, but after observing her for a day, I could tell she was suffering from a neurological issue and NOT joint pain. A friend recommended Dr. Verma at Companion Animal Hospital. I am SO glad that I took my friend's advice. Dr. Verma is the best veterinary doctor that I have EVER dealt with ANYWHERE. He's extremely knowledgeable and compassionatE. He truly cares and really takes his time with his patients and their owners. Shortly after examining my dog and watching her try to stand/walk, he informed me that she was suffering from partial paralysis that was most likely being caused by a bulging or ruptured disc, which was pinching a nerve or putting pressure on her spinal chord. I also told Dr. Verma that she hadn't urinated in over 24 hours but the that the other vet said, "when she has to go bad enough, she will go eventually. Dr. Verma checked her bladder and found that it was completely full, so he manually expressed the urine from her. He said that her bladder was most likey being affected by the paralysis and that if he hadn't emptied it, her bladder would have either rupture or backed up into her Kidneys, causing permanent damage. Dr. Verma came up with a treatment plan and she immediately showed improvement over the next couple days. He even took time to talk to me on the phone to check on how my dog was doing and answer any questions I had. I am so thankful for Dr. Verma because if I had only listened to the other vet, my 5 year old dog would probably be dead or permanently disabled. I will be taking both of my dogs to him from now on. I can't give him high enough of a recommendation. He deserves 10 out of 5 stars!! The picture is my dog in a crate resting as directed by Dr. Verma to help her recover and prevent any additional injury.

I am not happy with my experience here. When I checked in with my dogs, they had the wrong vaccines written down. They told me both of my dogs were going to get all of their vaccines done when they both only needed one or two. So they were not organized. Very high prices compared to the vet clinic I was going to prior. $74 exam fee compared to my previous vet at $48. And then don't even get me started on the vaccine prices. I usually only pay $15-$20 for vaccines each and they charged $48 each. I was baffled, but my dogs were already very stressed about being there so I just paid. The vet tech that took care of us was extremely negative and was cussing up a storm talking so much crap about her pets mainly her cat, calling it mean names repeatedly. It made me so uncomfortable and my dogs were restless but she just kept going on and on saying very hateful things about her cat. I am a huge animal lover and could never imagine speaking about my pets that way. It made me feel super uncomfortable to have my boys in their care. I'm not sure how they have such high ratings. I will be going back to my old vet clinic even though it's a farther drive but it's worth it. Much kinder, loving people, and much better prices. If you choose to bring your pet here, just beware of the kind of people they employ and what they are charging you! Edit: The manager Angela did call me and apologized for my experience. She said they will take action with the vet tech who I had such a negative experience with because they have a zero tolerance policy so I’m happy to hear that. Hopefully others don’t ever have an experience like I did, and I do really appreciate the follow up.

DO NOT!!! I REPEAT DO NOT GET YOUR DOGS HAIR CUT HERE!!! The old lady is super rude and she left clipper lines all over my dogs body, he looks ridiculous! She didn’t even shave him all the way down like I asked. Now I have to take him somewhere else to get it fixed. Finding a new Vet NOW!

Been coming here for ten years. I asked them not to give my dog the $200 allergy shot. They did it anyway after I told them not to. They had me pay $200 even though I never told them to give her this shot. My dog became so sick, goopy eyes for 4 weeks. Just now starting to look healthy again after this shot is wearing off. I can’t believe they MADE ME PAY when I told them NOT TO give her this shot. Will NEVER come back.

I brought my cat Boo in for a dental cleaning last Friday, and during the procedure it was determined that two teeth needed to be extracted. The team communicated clearly during the procedure and obtained my approval before moving forward, which I appreciated. Boo has recovered very well over the past few days and is nearly back to her playful self, so I’m grateful the procedure itself went smoothly and that she’s feeling better. My concern is the lack of post-operative communication. I did not receive a follow-up call to check on her recovery, and when I picked her up I wasn’t able to speak directly with Dr. Verma to ask a few questions. After a surgical procedure, especially with the significant increase in pricing, I would expect proactive follow-up and an opportunity to speak briefly with the doctor for reassurance and clarity. Boo is doing well, which is what matters most, but I hope Companion can improve communication and post-op follow-up for pet owners moving forward.
